Nathan Koci - Co Founder
While Nathan grew up in Ladson, a quiet suburb of Charleston, he has only recently returned to Charleston to try and spice up the music scene. He graduated from the University of South Carolina, and has since performed with the Bang on a Can All-Stars, as well as TACTUS, the contemporary music ensemble of the Manhattan School of Music. While the horn is his main axe, he can also be spotted performing on the flugelhorn, cornet, piano, steel drum, and melodica.
Philip White - Co Founder
A native of Lancaster SC, Philip graduated from the college of Charleston in 2003 with a double emphasis in composition and jazz performance. In addition to a number of pieces for jazz ensemble, he has written for string quartet, piano, voice, and solo guitar. In the past year Philip has turned his attention towards computer based music and sound. In 2005 he premiered "The Way the Rocks Hold the Current" (guitar and computer), "Variations on a Dream"( fifteen movement suite for six multi-insrumentalists with film), and two sound installations. In addition to composing Philip has also done work as an engineer/producer and, he performs with various ensembles within the New Music Collective on both laptop and guitar.
Ron Wiltrout - Percussion
Ron hails from Goose Creek by way of the University of South Carolina. His schooling dealt with all facets of percussion and music, but he chose to pursue drumset as his main focus. Since graduation he has performed extensively in the Charleston area in restaurants, clubs, and concert halls playing just about every kind of music that can be found in Charleston. Recently he has been trying to focus on creating some music that hasn't been seen in Charleston before... hence his involvement in the New Music Collective.
